All Voting is Local Florida

Florida Canvassing Board Legal Monitor

Protect the right to vote and ensure that votes are counted.

Posted May 29, 2026

Background & Context

By providing a legal perspective on the canvassing board process, you can help ensure that votes cast are counted. Florida Canvassing Board Legal Monitors is a nonpartisan program that trains monitors to observe vote canvassing and support ballot review as needed during county canvassing board meetings and pre- and post-election meetings in Florida's 67 counties. The program is a collaboration of All Voting Is Local, the Florida Election Protection Coalition, and Florida Voting Rights Coalition partners.

Immediate Problem

Questions and concerns about our election processes are at an all-time high.

Work & Deliverables

Florida Canvassing Board Legal Monitors attend, document, and advocate at county canvassing board meetings. Volunteers do not need to be licensed or reside in Florida, but they must attend a virtual training and must be able to attend canvassing board meetings in person.

Specifically, we will need volunteers in every Florida county on these dates:

General Election
- Nov 2 (processing of vote-by-mail ballots)
- Nov 3 (Election Day)
- Nov 7 (processing of provisional ballots)
- Nov 16 (county certification of results)
Volunteers who can cover multiple dates are particularly helpful, but we are also happy to work with those who can cover only one date.

Virtual trainings will take place on October 21 at 6 PM ET and October 22 at 6:30 PM ET.

Note: After signing up for this project, check your inbox for an email from wta@civicnation.org for next steps.
