Project Spotlight
In the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Maria, We The Action partnered with the Rebuild Puerto Rico Contracting Initiative and recruited lawyers to assist in creating a guide on how to secure federal contracts. A team of lawyers wrote the guide, which will help small business owners in Puerto Rico who want to rebuild and reopen, helping their communities and local economies in the process. With the completed guide in hand, the University of Puerto Rico School of Law ran a mini-course for its students and a one-day continuing education course for practicing lawyers on how to use the guide to, in turn, teach small business owners how to compete for federal disaster relief grants.
