Make homelessness a rarity and affordable housing a reality in Ellis County

Background & Context
Affordable housing is the greatest need in survey's conducted in Ellis county and evictions and foreclosures are projected to be 30% higher due to pandemic. Ellis County is required to have a Continuum of Care agency by the HEARTH Act to help those who are homeless or on the verge of being homeless. We are now the TxBoSCoC agency for Ellis County and need assistance in determining liability protection for our agency and board.
Immediate Problem
We have also started a business, www.txbis.info, to fund the new agency and need legal advice in developing it's working relation to our non-profit and help with putting in place liability protections for the Ellis County Homeless Coalition.

The Local Homeless Coalition in Ellis County is a community action group of concerned citizens and organizations dedicated to raising awareness, preventing homelessness and developing affordable housing in Ellis County. We have made it our mission to come alongside the other non-profits in our county to equip citizens with the tools they need to break the cycle of poverty and set them up for a better tomorrow. We strive to be advocates within our county to make housing more affordable. We plan to do this through affordable housing and assistance in other essential areas. We want to see people rise above their circumstances and watch homelessness become a rarity in Ellis County.
