Election Protection Coalition & Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law

DC Election Protection Field Volunteer

Field Attorneys and Legal Monitors will assist voters in DC’s upcoming primary election

Posted May 28, 2026

Background & Context

Every voter in DC should be able to participate in the upcoming June election fully and fairly. At a time when DC communities are under military occupation and the administration is threatening law enforcement “surges,” it’s up to us to protect voters and our right to vote.

Immediate Problem

To make this possible, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, Advancement Project, Free DC, Harriet’s Wildest Dreams, Washington Interfaith Network, and other partners are coming together to form the DC Election Protection Coalition to assist and protect voters by answering questions and resolving issues throughout election season. Through the nonpartisan Election Protection hotline, 866-OUR-VOTE, and a trained corps of volunteers in the field, the DC Election Protection Coalition will protect the rights of all voters across the District.

Work & Deliverables

Election Protection Field Attorneys and Legal Monitors will assist voters at vote centers across Washington, DC, answering questions, resolving issues, and documenting instances of election interference.
