State Rules for Nonprofits Assistance with Voting

Get local grassroots groups the info they need to comply with law!

Posted August 17, 2022

Work & Deliverables

We could use your help rounding up links to some key state-level information on how nonprofits doing civic participation and voter engagement are affected by rules at the state level.

Some of the topics we’re having volunteers look into are:
Running voter registration drives
“Line warming” activities - like giving water to voters waiting in line at the polls
Rules about nonpartisan observers at the polls, and more!

We will provide instructions and a data input form that will guide you through what to look for, and where to look. You don’t have to be barred in your state of choice, or have any prior experience with these sorts of state laws.

We think the work should take around 2-3 hours to complete.

What we do ask for is that you stick to the deadline of getting your work back to us in no longer than two weeks of checking out the state. One week would be even better if some of you can manage a quick turnaround. We want to get these resources out to the advocates on the ground in the states as early as we can in September!
