Obtain 501(c)(3) Status for a Deep Canvassing Organization

Help a deep canvassing organization become self-sufficient and maximize its impact in 2020 and beyond

Posted January 9, 2020

Changing the Conversation Together is a political startup. We aspire to build a national corps of deep canvassers who can bridge political divides and help elect Democrats to take us forward. We're aspiring to bring hundreds of volunteers from around the country to train and canvass with us. Some of the founders of this entity are also interested in setting up a separate sister 501c3 corporation. We have some personal experience with this, and attempted to do so on our own but failed and need help doing it. We currently have a fiscal sponsor but want to get to a place where we can be self sufficient.

Changing The Conversation Together

CTC is an organization dedicated to building a national corps of deep canvassers who can bridge political divides and help elect Democrats to take us forward. Through training volunteers to engage in respectful empathetic conversations with voters at their doors, our canvassers are helping to grow an American electorate that embraces compassion and inclusion. Founded in 2017 with nothing more than an idea, a certain amount of experience, ambition and belief in the mission, CTC played a critical role in helping flip NY's 11th congressional district in the 2018 midterm elections. That story went viral and now we are taking this movement on the road and helping organizations, activists and others bring this approach to battleground states in what is arguably the most important election of our lifetime.
