Lambda Legal Help Desk Cooperating Attorneys

Change LGBT+ people's lives by representing them against discriminatory acts

Posted July 2, 2019

Lambda Legal is a national organization dedicated to achieving the civil rights of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender people and people with HIV through impact litigation, education and public policy work. Thousands of people each year contact us for legal assistance, and given our limited mission and limited resources, we cannot represent the vast majority of those who contact us. To assist in meeting the need, Lambda Legal operates a help desk where LGBT+ people contact us for legal assistance with discrimination based on their sexual orientation, gender identity or HIV status. These people need low cost to no cost legal assistance. To that end, Lambda Legal operates a Cooperating Attorney Network where attorneys from around the country agree to be legal resources for those who contact our help desk. Volunteers should be LGBT+ competent or agree to gain that competency.
