Safeguarding the 2024 Election: The Role for Lawyers

Join We The Action and the NYC Bar Association on April 16 at 6pm ET for a webinar on how to protect our democracy in 2024

Posted March 19, 2024

Background & Context

Tuesday, April 16, 2024 | 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm ET
Given the enormous stakes in the 2024 election, the misinformation, barriers and inconveniences people face as they try to vote, as well as efforts to delegitimize the election can be disheartening and discourage people from exercising the franchise. Lawyers have a special role to play in helping to preserve the election system, by litigating and advocating to preserve the opportunity to vote and fair elections, and also by helping potential voters navigate potential pitfalls. This program, featuring speakers engaged in ensuring fair elections, aims to explain what is at stake, identify the many issues to be addressed, and encourage lawyer involvement in safeguarding this crucial election.
