Help Define A Partnership Agreement Between A Nonprofit And Volunteers

We've spent over a year developing a know-your-rights app for the Los Angeles immigrant community, spearheaded by volunteers. The volunteers need your help defining our official partnership agreement.

Posted August 6, 2020

Background & Context

A team of volunteers has been working with CHIRLA for the past year on developing a useful know-your-rights app. The volunteers are looking for counsel on how to formalize this partnership, considering questions of intellectual property ownership and entering into an LLC structure.

Immediate Problem

Our nonprofit has acquired counsel on our end, but the volunteers working on the app need counsel for their own questions, such as if they should form an LLC.

Work & Deliverables

- Consultation going over business/nonprofit structures for this particular group of volunteers and intellectual property ownership
- Review agreement drafts from parent org and provide high-level feedback on what the agreements mean for the volunteers

Project Plan
