Commercial Lease Review to Support Children Experiencing Housing Insecurity

Give children experiencing family housing insecurity a safe, joyful place to play in Maryland.

Posted February 6, 2026

Background & Context

You can make a meaningful impact in just an hour or two. Playtime Project cultivates resilience in children experiencing family housing insecurity by providing access to transformative play experiences. We are currently negotiating a lease with a mall in Maryland for Playtime Project’s first brick-and-mortar storefront program space.
This space will allow us to offer consistent, high-quality play opportunities that support healthy child development while also connecting families to critical support services.

Work & Deliverables

We are seeking a volunteer attorney to review the draft lease, with a focus on identifying key risks, flagging any unfavorable or unusual provisions, and advising on potential negotiation points prior to execution. We are hoping to move forward on a relatively short timeline.
