We The Action
Training: Representing Federal Employees
Wednesday, March 12 at 3pm ET / 12pm PT | Virtual (Zoom)
Posted March 3, 2025
Background & Context
Millions of Americans have dedicated their careers to serving our communities and our country through federal service. These people live in every state and provide essential services to every community -- from supporting child nutrition to providing health care for senior citizens and veterans to caring for our national parks to protecting our national security. We all count on the integrity, expertise, and dedication of public servants, and they should be able to count on us.
Federal employees are under attack and seek, or may soon seek, legal representation to enforce their rights. This 90-minute training offers information to broaden the field of legal counsel available to serve these workers. Completing the training will qualify you to join the Federal Employee Legal Defense Network and, if you wish, have your name provided to federal employees in need of counsel. The session trainer, Peter Broida, will provide information and training for lawyers willing to fill this urgent need.
This virtual training session will discuss:
Probationary or trial period terminations, reductions in force, appeal rights, prohibited personnel practices, MSPB processes, OSC processes, union contract grievance processes, election of remedies, grievance, and additional resources for research.
Workshop Speakers:

Mr. Becker is Senior Counsel to the AFL-CIO. He served as General Counsel from 2012 to 2022. Before assuming that position, Craig was a Member of the National Labor Relations Board having been appointed by President Obama in March 2010 and serving until January 2012.
