Posted August 5, 2024
Background & Context
The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the largest landlord in North America and the largest public housing authority in the country. NYCHA’s mission is to provide decent and affordable housing in a safe and secure living environment for about 600,000 low- and moderate- income residents throughout New York City through its public housing and Section 8 programs.
The Center for Justice Innovation has received a grant to develop and activate greenspace at four NYCHA developments across the City of New York. This has been informed by an in-depth participatory design process that engaged NYCHA residents in collaboration with greenspace and community partners.
