GA RESEARCH: Early Vote and Absentee Ballot Return
Ensure Access for GA Voters to Vote Early and Return Absentee Ballots
Posted October 11, 2022
Background & Context
In 2021, the GA Legislature pass SB 202 into law. This law was in reaction to the 2020 election. The law significantly impacts voter access. Part of that law impacts early voting in Georgia as well as absentee ballot drop boxes. The law limits one drop box per 100,000 voters, therefore, eliminating over 300 hours of drop box availability and slashes number of drop boxes in large counties.
Immediate Problem
As a part of Fair Fight Action's core mission of voter education and empowerment, volunteers are needed to confirm early voting and absentee ballot return location(s) and hours in all 159 counties throughout Georgia. These details will be reported out to voters on www.PeachVote.com, so they can make their plan to vote.
Work & Deliverables
Participate in a project to call all 159 counties in Georgia to verify: (1) early voting locations and hours including mandatory Saturdays and (2) absentee ballot return locations not limited to drop boxes for the November 8, 2022 General Election.
