Help Afghan evacuees with their immigration case

Background & Context
We are facing an unprecedented crisis caused by the chaotic and rushed withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Afghanistan. Frontline legal aid organizations and resettlement agencies are fielding requests for legal assistance from tens of thousands of Afghan evacuees. At the same time, attorneys, law firms, and legal teams across the country are looking for ways to provide pro bono legal aid to our new Afghan neighbors. The Welcome Legal Alliance seeks to bring these groups together to connect pro bono attorneys directly with clients, while also providing the mentorship and training necessary to properly serve these individuals and families. In doing so, we hope to increase access to legal services throughout the country for the Afghan refugee community.
Immediate Problem
Human Rights First has received hundreds of requests for legal assistance from Afghans in the United States. We need your help to take on asylum representation cases for this high-need population.
Work & Deliverables
Due to the high volume of requests for legal assistance of U.S.-based Afghans, we are in urgent need to work with volunteer attorneys to help us take on asylum cases pro bono at the Asylum Office. We provide mentorship, application review, and access to our resource pool that includes sample affidavits, briefs, translations, country conditions, sample interview questions and more.
Preparation Phase
