Advice on Hiring International Employees

Our fieldwork is in Turkey with Syrian refugees. This will help us increase on site activities.

Posted October 1, 2021

Background & Context

HERA is a digital health platform designed to increase access to healthcare in refugee populations. As majority of our target population is in low and middle income countries (in Turkey at the moment), we need on site teams that work closely with the population. Hiring international employees is vital for us to keep working in the field.

Immediate Problem

Having the legal and financial procedures ready to hire international (without US work auth.) employees.

Work & Deliverables

We want to create an internal protocol for hiring international employees including the legal procedure and financial responsibilities.
This will include ensuring that we understand all our legal responsibilities, the process of hiring (in specific visa types) or remote work.

Project Plan

Preparation Phase

  • Intro call (where we explain our work and need)

Collaboration Phase

  • Explanation of our legal responsibilities and creation of hiring procedure

Wrap Up

Details to be provided at a later date
