Inclusive America
Empower Government to Assess Diversity
Ensure our government's accountability arm truly advances diversity, equity, and inclusion
Posted August 6, 2021
Background & Context
Most diversity/inclusion efforts focus on short term fixes (mostly personnel). In addition to that we want to see structural changes as assessed in GAO reports. In parallel we are seeking the Biden administration to enact these draft Executive Orders (www.InclusiveAmerica.org/eo).
Work & Deliverables
We are seeking help to review previous Government Accountability Office (GAO) reports on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and develop a model template to recommend.
Please Note: Volunteers for this opportunity must have experience in legislative advocacy at the federal level.
We want a detailed strategy on how best to get a model "GAO Report on DEI" template adopted.
Preparation Phase
- Schedule a background call with Co-Founder
Collaboration Phase
- Get to know client and facts of client’s case
- Review previous GAO reports on DEI
- Develop model template
- Incorporate feedback from others
Wrap Up
- Finalize model template
Inclusive America
Our mission is to make the government as diverse as the people of the United States. We will do that via three tracks: ● Educate: Track demographic information of all appointed political positions. We will provide the analysis to government hiring managers / recruiters, the media, partner organizations, and interested individuals. It will also serve as a baseline and tool to measure progress. ● Elevate: Partner with individuals, organizations, and associations to develop slates of qualified diverse candidates for every relevant position so we can provide a positive alternative to the status-quo. ● Advocate: Support policies that increase diversity, equity and inclusion in the public sector. For example, we would like to support the National Security Diversity and Inclusion Workforce Act.
