Background & Context
TMN looks forward to growing into a distinguished, effective resource to be accessed by anyone in the U.S., who falls under the transgender umbrella. TMN seeks to grow in structure, reach, and scale in order to successfully serve the growing number of people in the U.S. who are coming out as transgender. TMN strives to grow strong client, partner, and affiliate relationships in order to serve the transgender communities across the U.S. for years to come. TMN pledges to serve our clients through dedication, compassion, acceptance, and understanding now, and going forward. We are seeking assistance with Non-Profit incorporation and business license paperwork.
Immediate Problem
TMN seeks to narrow the gap in unemployment and underemployment rates for the transgender population in the United States. TMN seeks to enlighten the transgender population through current media, news highlights, education, and blogging about current events and social situations surrounding civil rights. TMN works to close the gaping hole that exists for social and community support for transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people.

Trans Matters Now
‘Trans Matters Now’ is a grassroots initiative that began as ‘Trans Lives Matters’ in January 2012, in Seattle, Washington. Since then, it changed hands in 2016. Trans Matters Now, is connecting the trans population to what matters: Jobs, Resources, Community, Support, News, Media, Stories and More. Through our projects such as: #HeartTheHomeless, Trans Job Connect, Trans Matters, and Community Support Spaces, we offer the transgender population services that matter. With support groups, dedicated chat spaces, a jobs forum and trans employment group for other helpful information related to searching for jobs, preparing for interviews, resume tips, etc. Our website features news, recent tweets, blog entries, community education, and extensive resources for the trans and gender-expansive communities across the United States. Many times our clients may be experiencing needs outside of these parameters, and we want to be able to focus our attention on a wider spectrum of needs for our community members. Our mission, purpose, and values are simple: Mission To assist the transgender population in the U.S. with services such as: Employment Search & Resume Assistance, Connection to Affirming Resources, Community Chat Space For Connecting To Peers, Support Group Spaces, News Concerning Trans Rights & Progress, Media From Queer & Transgender People, & Stories in Which to Relate. Purpose To provide a reliable outreach to the transgender population across the U.S. with services that matter. Trans Matters Now seeks to be a network of services to fulfill vital needs that play a major role in survival, self-empowerment, and sustainability. Values Diversity Matters, Integrity Matters, Respect Matters, Responsiveness Matters, Support Matters. We want all of our clients and team members to feel: seen, heard, respected, valued, safe, and comfortable.
