A 18 Year Old Immigrant Child Facing Deportation

Help an immigrant child gain legal status in the U.S. and protect them from deportation.

Posted July 25, 2024

Work & Deliverables

A. is an 18 yo from El Salvador. He arrived from El Salvador in October 2022 and was placed into removal proceedings. He left El Salvador because his family lived in harsh, under-resourced conditions – they did not have enough money and lived in a home made of sticks. A. now lives comfortably with his cousin in Brooklyn. A.’s attorney will need to help him petition the U.S. government for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), which is a gateway to permanent residence in the United States, on the basis of death of a parent and possibly also neglect.
