Election Protection Coalition & Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law

Election Protection

Posted October 2, 2018

Made up of more than 100 local, state and national partners, the Election Protection coalition provides Americans with comprehensive information and assistance at all stages of voting—from registration, to absentee and early voting, to casting a vote at the polls, to overcoming obstacles to their participation.

Volunteer lawyers are needed: (1) before Election Day to answer questions at call centers throughout the country; and (2) on Election Day to volunteer at polling locations throughout the country.

Volunteer lawyers will provide voter information, document problems voters encounter when voting, and work with partners and volunteers on the ground to identify and remove barriers to voting. All training is provided, and is available on demand.

This year, Election Protection is looking for volunteers in the following states, though you can be barred in any state to do this work: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Click below to volunteer and you will be redirected to the Election Protection sign up page.
